They won three of the four games, even securing victory against the Minnesota Wild with a 2-1 overtime triumph.
Coach Bruce Cassidy praised player Jonathan Marchessault for his role in securing this win, praising his shot that led to the game-winning goal. The team also praised goalie Logan Thompson for stopping 32 of 33 shots throughout the game. However, there was some controversy revolving around top center Jack Eichel, who was ejected from the game against Minnesota for spearing star winger Kirill Kaprizov. Eichel may now face a fine or possible suspension following the Game Misconduct.
In terms of individual performances, Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon are in a close race for the Art Ross Trophy, with MacKinnon currently holding a slim advantage. Meanwhile, Rick Tocchet, Vancouver Canucks head coach, is preparing his team to challenge the Golden Knights, as are the Edmonton Oilers.
Paying tribute to the career of Marc-Andre Fleury, his former team, Pittsburgh, even presented him with a painting and private reception. There has been some speculation about Fleury’s retirement, but he recently hinted he might return to the Vegas Golden Knights next season and has reportedly begun house hunting in Las Vegas. Despite any official confirmation, it seems Fleury might delay hanging up his skates just a little bit longer.
